5 organizations in Kosovo will help the existing and potential victims of trafficking through grant funding allocated by the “Moving Forward” EU project. The project staff and key officials from Ministry of Internal Affairs were present today at the signing ceremony, along with civil society organisations.
The overall purpose of the grant scheme is to increase the range and quality of social care and protection services for existing and potential victims of trafficking in a sustainable way, with emphasis on social inclusion and their reintegration. Out of a very competitive process of project applications, 5 winning organizations have been selected, who will implement supportive and preventive activities for the existing and potential victims of trafficking throughout Kosovo. The winning organizations are Artpolis, Center for Promoting Women’s Rights, Hopes and Homes for Children – Kosovo, NGO Network “Qeliza”, and Liria.
Project grants will enable reintegration and involvement of existing and potential victims in the daily social life, supporting their independence or self-sustainability. More than 130.000 EUR have been allocated through grants for the winning organizations to implement their activities. Winning projects include artistic activities with existing/potential victims, vocational training in order to reintegrate victims as well as traffickers, treatment of victims in shelters through services, capacity building of shelters and economic reintegration of victims. Most projects focus on female victims of trafficking, with special focus on minors, two groups that are particularly vulnerable from human trafficking.
